Site Description: Wuhan University of Science and Technology (formerly Wuhan Institute of Textile Technology) is a general higher education institution with a focus on engineering, coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as science, engineering, humanities (arts), economics, management, law, education, etc., and distinct characteristics and advantages in textile and clothing. The school is located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, which is the thoroughfare of the nine provinces. It is located in the hinterland of China's Optics Valley and covers an area of 2006 acres. There are currently 12879 full-time students on campus, including 12218 undergraduate students and 661 graduate students. In 2006, the school successfully passed the undergraduate teaching level evaluation by the Ministry of Education and was awarded the title of Excellent. The school has 2 first level disciplines authorized for master's degrees and 16 master's degree authorization points. There are 46 undergraduate majors, covering seven disciplines including engineering, science, philosophy, literature, management, economics, law, and education.
